10 creative places you can use your roller banner

Roller banners, or pull up or pop up banners, are a great piece of marketing kit.

However, don’t just use yours once and then leave it to gather dust in the corner. Find a place to keep it up permanently or reasons to use it more often. It’s great exposure for you and your business.

Where can I use my roller banner, I hear you ask?

The answer is literally anywhere. Use your banner to communicate with the general public, to grab the attention of your existing customers or spark the interest of potential new customers. Take a look next time you’re out and you’ll find you’re spotting them all over the place.

But, if you’re in need of a little inspiration, do read on…

Just what exactly is a roller banner?

Firstly, for those unsure, roller banners are usually quite tall (around 2000mm) and although available in a variety of different widths the narrow ones are a popular choice for small businesses.

They sit inside a metal base and are quite easily unrolled and hooked onto a metal stand. The banners are super light and can be used in the smallest of spaces.

Trade shows and exhibitions

Trade shows and exhibitions are the most obvious places to use your roller banner, to tempt people to your stand or to help them find your stand. They mark your spot, are great for visibility and create a branded background for your stand.

And because they’re so lightweight and easy to set up, they’re perfect for exhibitions even if you’re a one woman band.

Your office space

Pop your banner up in the place where do you meet your clients. By your desk if you hot desk, in the corner of the room you rent, or in reception if you have larger premises.

If you run classes in a rented hall or space, pop up your banner by the door or in the room. It’ll help your clients find you and give your business extra professionalism. It’s not easy when you’re working from rented rooms but having a roller banner in the corner with a few business cards and leaflets will make your business look professional.

Networking events

Networking events offer a few different ways you might use a roller banner.

You might be able to set it up in the corner of the room, use during a presentation or demonstration you might be making or next to a stall.

Ask the event organiser about what they allow or even better, set up your own networking group. It’s a great way to make your business seen and get exposure.

Workshops

Running a workshop allows you to have a roller banner inside the room where you’re hosting the actual workshop, outside the room or in the reception area if it’s a larger company.

If you have two or three roller banners you can set a few up and around to gain maximum exposure or even help guide people to the room.

Presentations

Presentations can be made any where and to anyone, depending on your business. Networking events, groups, businesses – having a roller banner gives people a focus, gives them a chance to read about your business (even if they don’t take in everything you’re saying!)

You can even set it up next to a small table with your business cards and other marketing, products or samples.

Your retail space

Your retail space is another good place to use your roller banner. You can use it in your shop window as part of the display, near the counter as people pay or some other place which works for your own particular shop. Maybe it can be used to fill an empty corner, hide a private doorway or even hide a messy area.

Just get creative!

Corporate events

There are many different types of corporate events from seminars and conferences to meetings and dinners. Use your roller banner as appropriate and make a professional impression of your business while you’re on the move.

You’ll have many eyes on you and hopefully potential customers so keep your business cards to hand plus any other handouts such as leaflets and brochures.

Promotional celebrations

Are you promoting a new product launch or advertising a festival or celebrating a business milestone such as an anniversary? A roller banner makes a great backdrop especially if the media are involved and you get your picture in the paper.

Use the images for PR purposes and you can be sure the background is branded and looks professional.

Craft fairs

A roller banner can add interest to your stall and catch peoples eye from a distance.

Your roller banner can have a Call To Action even if people don’t want to buy from you on the day. Promote your social media, newsletter sign up, free resources or shop (real or online)

Outdoors

Have you thought about using your roller banner outdoors? There will be more expense in printing but you can have a special finish, more durable and a weighted base to withstand weather conditions. Especially handy for those working out in the elements.

Or if you’ve dropped lucky, your standard roller banner should be ok on a sunny day for a while outside. Just make sure it’s not too breezy!

And finally

So, there you have it. Roller banners can attract attention and create awareness of your business in a multitude of different settings. Advertise your business with a general banner or create a special one for your special offers. Invest in two or three so you can be really specific about your message.

Roller banners really are a great marketing tool to help promote your business.
